ASSESSORS MEETING MINUTES
DECEMBER 3, 2009
7:00P.M. Called meeting to order. Present: Paula B. Keefe, Ellen W. Abelson and Mark J. Mazur.
1. The Board took the following actions on FY 2011 applications for
classification under Chapter 61A:
G. & G. Steinberg Granted for one parcel
J. & G. Mazzotta Granted for one parcel
J. Lee Granted for two parcels
P. & V. Andrews Granted for one parcel
D. & M. Arguimbau Granted for three parcels
Sharon CFII, LP Granted for four parcels
R. & J. Ward & Ward Family LLC Granted for two parcels
R. Morse, Jr., Trust Granted for two parcels
2. The Board took the following actions on FY 2011 applications for classification
under Chapter 61B:
Spring Valley Granted for two parcels
Massapoag Sportsmen’s Club, Inc. Granted for two parcels
Sharon Country Club, Inc. Granted for five parcels
Sharon Fish & Game Club, Inc. Granted for seven parcels
3. The Board granted a fiscal year 2009 abatement to the owner of parcel 86-15
in settlement of their appeal.
4. The Board discussed delays we and other communities are having in getting
state approvals for our assessments. In conjunction with that, they discussed
proposed legislation that would allow us to send out 3rd quarter actual bills until
1/31/10.
5. The Board discussed plans for a public notice program, once we receive
preliminary certification of our FY2010 assessments. The Board decided
that taxpayers will be notified about the assessments through a local newspaper,
local access TV and the Town website. Printouts of our assessments will be
placed in our office and the library, for the public to examine.
6. The Board discussed and then approved as amended an Agenda for us to use
for future Board meetings.
7. The Board decided to hold their next meetings at 7:00P.M. on Thursday 12/17
and at 4:45P.M. on Wednesday 12/30.
